Mucino SD-10 Tsunami


On January 25 in Monterrey, Mexico, in a fist-flying affair, Arely “Machine Gun” Mucino, in front a hometown crowd won a split-decision over former world champion Tenkai Tsunami of Tokyo, Japan, by the scores (96-94/96-94/93-97). This battle was a non-title fight.

It was the second close decision loss in Mexico for Tsunami in the past year. In March 2012 she lost a close decision to popular Mexican slugger, Zulina Munoz in a failed attempt to secure the WBC super flyweight title.

With the razor-close win, the 24-year-old Mucino improves to (19-2-2, 10 KOs) whereas the 29-year-old Tsunami drops to a deceiving (19-8, 8 KOs).
