Berlin, Germany- At Universal Hall, WIBF light-welterweight champion Marie Riederer (15-1-1, 10 KOs) Weisswasser, Germany, scored a first round knockout of Veronika Hornyak (4-5) Veroce, Hungary, in a non-title fight. Each of Hornyak’s five losses has come by knockout. It marks the third straight outing in which Hornyak suffered a first-round knockout loss. Riederer won the WIBF title by besting (UD-10) Angel McKenzie (4-27) and defended it against (9-23) Galina Gumliiska (UD-10). Her solo fight against world-class competition resulted in a knockout loss to two-division champion Christina Hammer (KO-5).
