Ashley, Westbury, New York, a professional since 1999, improved to (21-9-1, 3 KOs) and still sports the WBC female super-bantamweight title although it wasn’t involved in this bout. Dennison, Albuquerque, New Mexico, dropped to (5-4-2) suffering her first stoppage loss of her five-year career. On the undercard, super-flyweight Kimberly Tomes moved to a deceiving (2-5, 2 KOs) pounding Paola Ortiz (0-4) into submission in the second round. It was the first start in four years for the 43-year-old Tomes who earned her second consecutive win after beginning her career with five losses against excellent competition.
