On May 29th Heather “The Heat” Hardy (12-0, 2 KOs) looks to turn up the heat at the Barclay’s Center in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY, when she faces Florida’s Noemi “La Rebelde” Bosques (8-2-2, 2 KOs) in a super-bantamweight (122 lbs.) bout scheduled for eight rounds.
Bosques, 32, had a busy 2014 engaging in six bouts posting a record of (4-1-1, 1 KO). She punctuated 2014 by posting a ten-round unanimous decision victory over former world title challenger Chantel “Gorgeous Babe” Cordova.
The 33-year-old Hardy entered the ring five times in 2014 winning each contest by decision. Most recently, in April, she battered former bantamweight titleholder Renata Domsodi (12-6) for three rounds (NC-3) before the fight was halted due to an injury to Domsodi caused by an accidental head butt in round two.
Hardy holds a three-inch height advantage (5’5” – 5’ 2”) and has campaigned as a super-bantamweight since the second bout of her professional career (October 2012). Bosques scaled just under the bantamweight limit (118 lbs.) in her two most recent outings.
This fight is an excellent matchup for women’s boxing. Both fighters enjoy large fan bases. Hardy reportedly sold $30,000 worth of tickets for her April fight with Domsodi, which was tucked away on the undercard of a PBC boxing event.
