Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina: Fernanda Soledad Alegre, 139 ½, of Gonzalez Catan, Buenos Aires, became a two-time WBO World female super-lightweight champion with an eighth-round technical knockout of former WBO World female lightweight champion Enis Pacheco, 139 ¼, of Puerto Escondido, Colombia. With the win, the 28-year-old Alegre improves to (21-2-1, 11 KOs) and Pacheco, 27, drops to (12-3-2, 7 KOs) with the loss. This bout was a rematch of a September 2011 WBO super-lightweight title fight won by Alegre (UD-10). During her first run as the WBO super-lightweight champion that lasted just over four years, Alegre successfully defended her title nine times defeating Chris Namus (twice) and Silvana Lima da Silva in the process. Most recently, Alegre, in a non-title fight lost a split-decision to Ana Laura Esteche.
