Dionicius SD-10 Galassi
On June 26 in Manerba del Garda, Italy, 27-year-old Debora Anahi Dionicius (Argentina), 113 ½, defended her IBF super-flyweight title for the sixth time with a ten-round, split-decision over 42-year-old southpaw, Simona Galassi (Italy) who scaled in at precisely 113. Judge Jerome Lades (France) favored Galassi 97-93; he was overruled by Judges Lahcen Oumghar (Netherlands) and Luigi Zaccardi (Italy) by the identical score of 96-94.
With the win, Dionicius improved her undefeated record to (20-0, 5 KOs) and enjoyed her second victory of 2015. Dionicius won the IBF super-flyweight title in November 2012.
Galassi, in the twilight of an impressive career, witnesses her record drop (23-4-1, 4 KOs). She previously held the WBC World Flyweight title (2008-11), IBF super-flyweight title (2011-12), and the EBU flyweight title on two different occasions. During her career, she bested Stefania Bianchini, Esmeralda Moreno, and Renata Szebeledi.
