Ewa Brodnicka, 133 ¾, served notice that she’s a serious contender in the lightweight division pounding tough, Italian challenger Anita Torti, 134, over ten hard-fought rounds. The scores favored the 32-year-old Brodnicka (100-91/99-91/99-91). With the win, Brodnicka moved to (12-0, 2 KOs) and defended her EBU lightweight title for the first time since winning the strap in December 2015.
Torti suffers her third defeat in the last four starts dropping to (10-6-1, 3 KOs) and now assumes trial horse status.
Brodnicka, Warsaw, Poland, is ranked #4 by the WBC and is a serious challenger to their champion, Delfine Persoon of Belgium.
