Defensive wizard Victoria Noelia Bustos, 132, defended her IBF World female lightweight title for the fourth time with a ten-round, unanimous decision victory over Kimberly Connor, 131, by the scores (97-93/99-91/96-94). This blogger scored 98-92 for the champion. Bustos won the title in November 2013 besting Roxana Beatriz Laborde over ten rounds.
Connor, Little Rock, Arkansas, pressed the action throughout but found it difficult to sustain anything meaningful due to the defensive skill of Bustos. The champion slipped under the long punches of the challenger countering well on the inside and sliding out of danger.
With the win, Bustos improves to (17-4) while Connor drops to (12-3-2, 5 KOs).
On the undercard, 20-year-old future superstar Evelyn Nazarena Bermudez, 111, defeated Victoria Moreyra, 112 ½, by a unanimous decision over four rounds in the flyweight division. Bermudez dominated on the scorecards, (40-36/40-38/40-37). Bermudez is the sister of multiple time world champion Daniela Romina Bermudez. With the win, Bermudez improves to (3-0, 1 KO) and Moreyra suffers a defeat in her professional debut.
